Engagement · i.

Design.

Design development, construction documents, equipment specification, custom programming, and the on-panel interface (Tahoe) — for the systems behind the home, ready for your local integrator to execute.

What's included.

The Design engagement is the documentation set, the programming, and the interface that get the technology systems built correctly. Coordinated across every discipline that touches the architecture — lighting, low-voltage, distributed audio and video, motorised shading, network, security, and control. Specified to the SKU. Drawn to the room. Programmed by hand. Interface authored. Issued in a single integrated package the local integrator builds against.

Deliverables.

  • Design development across all technology disciplines
  • Construction documents — low-voltage layouts, lighting plans, control schematics, rack elevations, rough-in details, plate schedules
  • Equipment specification at SKU level
  • Integration logic — scenes, schedules, automation behaviours, system architecture
  • Custom programming — Crestron and Lutron, hand-written by senior engineers, authored against the design narrative and ready to load on the integrator’s commissioning visit
  • On-panel interface (Tahoe) — UI/UX designed for the household, configured to the residence, deployed across every touch surface in the home
  • Coordination set issued alongside the architectural and electrical drawings
  • RFI responses to the local integrator through the build (capped hours, scoped per project)
  • Programming and UI certification once the integrator has installed and powered the system

Who this is for.

Design suits projects where the local integrator is established, technically capable, and able to execute a coordinated documentation set without active oversight from the system designer. The principal or the design firm is the primary point of accountability through construction.

Most engagements at this tier are commissioned by the architect or the interior designer on behalf of the principal — sometimes directly by the principal where a long-standing local integrator is in place.

How we work.

Engagements begin once the concept and specification phase is complete. From there:

A kickoff call with the principal, the design firm, and the local integrator establishes scope and the design narrative. Design development runs over six to twelve weeks depending on home size and complexity, with two formal review milestones. Construction documents are issued in a single package. RFI capacity is reserved for the duration of the build.

Investment.

Design engagements are scoped per project and priced as a percentage of the technology systems budget. Most engagements at this tier begin in the low six figures (USD).

A scope and fee proposal is issued within ten business days of the kickoff conversation.
